Every other MAP sensor cooling duct we've seen on the market addresses half the problem. They blow ambient air at the sensor, but the sensor keeps absorbing radiant heat from the hot pipe directly behind it.

This kit is the only solution, that we know of, that attacks GR Yaris MAP sensor heat soak from two directions at once:

  • Cooling duct: Channels fresh airflow from the bumper opening directly onto the MAP sensor.
  • Radiant heat shield: Blocks infrared heat radiating from the hot pipe behind the sensor, so the duct isn't fighting a constant heat source

The result: lower and more stable sensor temperatures than airflow alone can achieve, lap after lap.

The problem: ECU power reduction on track (Gen 2, 2024+)

The Gen 2 GR Yaris reads intake air temperature at the MAP sensor on the intake manifold. On track, the sensor heat-soaks, typically when in the pits, which then reports temperatures far higher than the air the engine is actually ingesting. Once the reading climbs past the ECU's threshold, it pulls timing and boost, and you feel the car go flat after a few hard laps. This affects completely stock cars as well as tuned ones. Usually the first heat of the day is fine, then the car heat-soaks in the pits and in the next heat the ECU limits boost due to high temp reading on the MAP sensor.

Keeping the sensor cooler keeps the reading closer to the real intake temperature, significantly reducing how much and how often the ECU pulls power.

Material: PAHT-CF

The kit is made in PAHT-CF: Carbon fiber reinforced, high-temperature polyamide. PAHT-CF is engineered for sustained under-hood temperatures, with higher heat deflection, greater stiffness, and excellent chemical resistance to oil and coolant. It's the same material class used for production automotive engine bay components.

Does this work on a stock Gen 2 GR Yaris?
Yes. The ECU's heat-related power reduction affects stock and tuned cars alike.

Does this completely eliminate heat soak?
No product can, the sensor still sits in a hot engine bay. By combining forced airflow with a radiant heat barrier, this kit keeps sensor temperatures significantly lower and more stable than a duct alone, reducing ECU power pull-back during sustained track driving.

Why do I need a heat shield if I have a cooling duct?
The MAP sensor sits close to a hot pipe that radiates heat continuously. A duct alone must overcome that radiation with airflow; the shield removes much of the heat source from the equation, so the sensor runs cooler with the same airflow.

Do I need any tools to install it?
No tools needed.

Do I need to modify my car to install it?
No modifications needed.

Can I use it in the rain?
Yes, the duct has 3 drainage holes for draining water when driving in rainy conditions. But in extremely heavy rain keep an eye on if the sensor gets sprayed with water, if so remove the dukt just in case.
